can i use cherry wood to build an acoustic guitar?
lately i have had the erge to build a guitar and possibly make a buisness but i wanted to know if i could use cherry wood to make it because cherry is my favorite kind of wood
First of all, to make a musical instrument, you need "Sound Wood"... Most guitars are made with a spruce top. Cherry wood is usually used for the sides ( this gives it a mellow sound) Maple would give it a sharper sound. Not all spruce trees produce "sounding wood " and depends on a lot of factors, too numerous to mention here.
Mahogany is also often used for the back of the guitar.
