How to hook up a toggle switch with a push button start?
88' bayliner capri ignition switch doesnt work, i would like to hook up a toggle switch with a push button start a little weiry about doin it by trial and error, any help would be great
its a boat
and the original ignition is a 6port
Assuming you have an outboard motor:
1. ignition on/off SPST toggle switch. Black wire on one post, black w/yellow tracer on the other. Open to run, closed to kill.
2. engine start. Normally open momentary switch. Red/purple on one post, yellow/red on the other.
3. electric choke/primer. Your choice, normally open momentary or SPST toggle. Purple/white on one post, red/purple on the other.
4. switched accessory circuit. SPST toggle, red/purple on one post, purple on the other.
